Soccer Game Preview: Millard West vs. Creighton Prep

Millard West is 2-8 against Creighton Prep since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Wildcats will be taking part in a tournament against the Junior Jays at 12:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Millard West comes in on five and Creighton Prep on eight.

Millard West saw some tournament action on Friday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Wildcats who were credited with the win. Their winning goal came courtesy of Diego Zapata.

Creighton Prep is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Omaha Westside, who was ranked 19th at the time (Creighton Prep was ranked second). The Junior Jays blew past the Warriors 6-1 on Friday. The result was nothing new for Creighton Prep, who have now won four matchups by four goals or more so far this season.

Creighton Prep's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those five games. As for Millard West, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Millard West came up short against Creighton Prep in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
