Basketball Recap: Pell City Panthers vs. Cullman Bearcats
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mountain Brook, the Pell City Panthers were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They walked away with a 55-44 victory over Cullman. For Pell City, this counts as revenge for the 57-53 loss the Bearcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Pell City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reagan Tarver, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Heaven O'Neal was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Pell City's win bumped their record up to 17-12. As for Cullman, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-14 record this season.
Pell City is on the road again on Friday and plays the Bearcats at 4:00 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Alabama (Cullman is ranked 96th, while the Panthers are ranked 80th). As for Cullman, they will play host again and welcome the Panthers, where tip off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Hopefully Pell City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
