Basketball Game Preview: Martinsburg Christian Academy Warriors vs. Independent Baptist Academy Kings

Martinsburg Christian Academy is 0-4 against Independent Baptist Academy since January of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 4:00 p.m.

Martinsburg Christian Academy came up short against Frederick Baptist Academy on Tuesday, falling 67-46.

Meanwhile, Independent Baptist Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 51-44 win over the EAGLES.

Martinsburg Christian Academy better focus on containing Scott Sisco and Jacob Rainey as the pair were huge in Independent Baptist Academy's win. Sisco almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine steals, while Rainey dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. Rainey continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of William Martin, who posted six points and 11 rebounds.

Independent Baptist Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Independent Baptist Academy's record now sits at 3-1. As for Martinsburg Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Martinsburg Christian Academy was dealt a bruising 75-26 loss at the hands of Independent Baptist Academy when the teams last played back in February. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Martinsburg Christian Academy was down 45-12.
