Soccer Recap: Avon Grove Comes Up Short

Avon Grove lost against Downingtown West back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Red Devils lost 6-0 to the Whippets. While losing is never fun, Avon Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Downingtown West are ranked 11th).

Avon Grove's loss dropped their record down to 1-6-3. As for Downingtown West, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0-2.

Avon Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Downingtown West, they will challenge Coatesville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Coatesville's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
