Softball Game Preview: Modesto Christian Crusaders vs. Stone Ridge Christian Knights

The Modesto Christian Crusaders will head out to face off against the Stone Ridge Christian Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Modesto Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Modesto Christian's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 23-0 to Le Grand, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Stone Ridge Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Denair on Wednesday, sneaking past 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Coyotes: they've now won six in a row.

Stone Ridge Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Modesto Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Modesto Christian suffered a grim 24-0 defeat to Stone Ridge Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2020. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
