Boyd County won against Logan  on Friday with 16  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Saturday. Everything went the Lions' way against the Lakota East Thunderhawks as they made off with  a  16-6 win. Considering the Lions have won ten contests by more than five  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Elyn Simpkins was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  tossed five innings while giving up  three earned  (and two unearned) runs off   six  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  runs and one  double. That's the most  runs  she has posted  over her last 16  games.
 In other batting news, Boyd County got a  massive  performance out of  Lacyn Black, who  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. That's the most  hits  Black has posted since back in April of 2024.  Savanna Henderson was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with four  RBI and one  triple.
 Boyd County was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakota East only posted a  batting average of  .250.
Boyd County's victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 14-9. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lakota East,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 7-5.
Boyd County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Thunderhawks: the pair will be back at it again later today.
