Softball Recap: Teurlings Catholic Comes Up Short

After flying high against Port Barre last Friday, Teurlings Catholic came back down to earth. The Rebels came up short against the Berwick Panthers on Tuesday, falling 17-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rebels have suffered since March 15th.

Aubree Carriere made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kate Poole, who scored a run while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Teurlings Catholic dropped their record down to 12-14-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Those road losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Berwick, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Teurlings Catholic will take on Cecilia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Berwick, they will face off against Terrebonne at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
