Baseball Recap: Turner Lions vs. The Colony Cougars
Turner had lost 18 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-19 to make it 19. They lost 11-4 to The Colony Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-0 on Tuesday.
As for The Colony, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.
For The Colony's part, Sean Keenen was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Keenen has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Martinez-Anderson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Turner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for The Colony, they will welcome Wakeland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
