Volleyball Recap: John J. Duggan Academy Comes Up Short

John J. Duggan Academy lost against Veritas Prep Charter back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. John J. Duggan Academy fell just short of Veritas Prep Charter by a score of 3-2. While John J. Duggan Academy didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Veritas Prep Charter 25-21 in the first set.

John J. Duggan Academy took Veritas Prep Charter into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-9, 25-18, 23-25, 15-8.

John J. Duggan Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Veritas Prep Charter, their win ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 7-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. John J. Duggan Academy will square off against Monument Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Veritas Prep Charter, they will face off against Mahar Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
