Parker Merriman Delivers Best Performance of Season

Deckerville was led to victory by Parker Merriman, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Merriman rushed for 236 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (101.5). Those 236 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

The victory for Deckerville keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. Merriman will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Alcona on Friday.

Memphis had to settle for second on Friday, but Josh Blaszak sure wasn't going down easily. Nobody could stop Blaszak as he rushed for 232 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards.

Memphis is on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8. Blaszak and Memphis are on the road again on Friday to play North Huron at 7:00 p.m.

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Tanner James stepped things up a notch to give Kingston the 'W'. Nobody could stop James as he rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 27 yards and a touchdown. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making nine total tackles (1.5 for loss) and defending two passes.

This season, James has thrown 10 touchdowns while averaging 96.1 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after eight games last season, he had five rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to 17.

Mayville's Losing Streak Is No More Thanks to Gavin Wager

Mayville's five-game losing streak is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Gavin Wager. Wager turned in nothing short of a gem on Friday, throwing for 312 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 62 yards and a touchdown.

On the season, Wager has thrown 14 touchdowns while averaging 152.1 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 9.29 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 64.57 rushing yards.

Michael Jenkins Sets Career High in Rushing Yards

Michael Jenkins posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 165 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.

For the season, Jenkins has run in 2 touchdowns while averaging 35.8 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after eight games last season, he was only averaging 7.75 rushing yards per game.
