Football Game Preview: Grant Cougars vs. Tioga Indians

Grant hasn't had much luck against Tioga recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Indians at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Grant's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last six matchups.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 77-35, which was the final score in Grant's tilt against Franklin Parish on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Patriots are ranked 70th).

Meanwhile, Tioga came tearing into Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points), and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Warhorses 49-6. With the Indians ahead 42-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Grant's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Tioga, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Grant took a serious blow against Tioga when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 42-8. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
