Basketball Recap: Arkport Central Comes Up Short

Arkport Central lost against Avoca Central back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Arkport Central Bluejays fell to the Avoca Central Tigers 57-53. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bluejays came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while the Tigers are ranked 650th).

Arkport Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Avoca Central, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.

The future could be bright for both Arkport Central and Avoca Central: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Arkport Central will try to hand Alfred-Almond their ninth-straight loss when the two meet at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Avoca Central will look to extend Hammondsport's four-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
