Softball Game Preview: New Richmond Tigers vs. Chippewa Falls Cardinals

For the second straight game, New Richmond will face off against Chippewa Falls. The Tigers will take on the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. New Richmond is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when New Richmond duked it out with Chippewa Falls on Tuesday. The Tigers fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 3-2. Tigers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Cardinals since on Tuesday.

New Richmond saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brier Blietz, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Chippewa Falls has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for New Richmond, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
