Baseball Recap: Gateway Comes Up Short

Gateway fell victim to Adams City and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 6-0. Considering the last time the Olympians couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Angel Ferrusquia was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. He has become a key player for Gateway: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-5 otherwise.

This is the second loss in a row for Gateway and nudges their season record down to 7-6. As for Adams City, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Adams City will square off against Thornton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a 17-game losing streak. Gateway will be paying especially close attention to Adams City's game: after Adams City faces off against Thornton, they'll take on Gateway again at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
