Football Recap: Goldsboro Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Goldsboro extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 0-8. They took a blow against the Princeton Bulldogs, falling 49-21. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 38-30 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Princeton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Goldsboro and 0-8 Spring Creek.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Gerell Bogle and Teo McPhatter. Bogle rushed for 103 yards and two scores on only seven carries while McPhatter rushed for 132 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Bogle a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Goldsboro will head out on the road to square off against Spring Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Gators' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Princeton, they will be playing at home against James Kenan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games.
