Basketball Recap: Mauldin Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Mauldin had won three straight road games and Alverez Smith did his part to make it four on Friday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, the Mauldin Mavericks made off with a 60-59 victory over the Hillcrest Rams thanks in part to Smith, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four).

Mauldin's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Hillcrest, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.
