Baseball Recap: Oak Ridge Takes a Loss

Oak Ridge couldn't beat Maryville on Monday even though they stacked six runs on them in the fifth inning. The Wildcats fell just short of the Red Rebels by a score of 8-7. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one run.

Warren East was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Oak Ridge and nudges their season record down to 25-5. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Maryville, their victory bumped their record up to 17-15-1.

Looking ahead, Oak Ridge will host Clinton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Maryville, they will take on Alcoa at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
