Volleyball Recap: Orrick Comes Up Short

Orrick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Plattsburg Tigers, falling 3-0. If the Bearcats were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-8, 25-3.

Addison Chapman paced Orrick's offense, picking up three kills. Chapman got some help from Serenity Apfel and her three assists. Audrey Thomas controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Plattsburg can attribute much of their success to Izzy Parra, who had seven digs and three aces.

Orrick's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Plattsburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season.

Orrick wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Crest Ridge on the 18th. As for Plattsburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against KIPP Legacy on the 17th.
