Basketball Recap: Auburn Mountainview Lions vs. Beamer Titans

The Auburn Mountainview Lions entered their tilt with the Beamer Titans with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Auburn Mountainview came out on top in a nail-biter against the Titans on Tuesday and snuck past 50-47. For Auburn Mountainview, this counts as revenge for the 66-57 loss the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Caleb Bowden was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Mande Wanlemvo was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.

Auburn Mountainview pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Beamer, their loss dropped their record down to 16-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Auburn Mountainview will stay at home for another game and welcome the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Auburn has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 828 points over their last nine matches. As for Beamer, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Jefferson has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 5.
