Baseball Recap: Escambia Comes Up Short

After soaring to 13 runs the game before, Escambia was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They fell just short of the West Florida Jaguars by a score of 4-2. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Gators who fell 3-1 when the teams previously met back in March of 2024.

Escambia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Nix, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Escambia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for West Florida, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Escambia will welcome Fort Walton Beach at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Florida, they will be playing at home against Walton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
