Windsor and Cardinal Newman are an even 4-4-2 against one another since February of 2017, but likely not for long. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Windsor take on the Cardinal Newman at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Windsor's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Windsor is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Ukiah on Thursday. Windsor fell just short of Ukiah by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Newman's and Maria Carrillo's contest on Thursday was close at halftime, but Cardinal Newman turned on the heat in the second half with two goals. Cardinal Newman was the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Maria Carrillo. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Pumas are ranked 275th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Cardinal Newman and bumps their season record up to 9-2-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matchups. As for Windsor, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5-2.

Windsor came up short against Cardinal Newman when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 3-1. Can Windsor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
