Basketball Recap: Heritage Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grayson, Heritage was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 60-53 victory over the Jenkins Warriors. The win was some much needed relief for the Patriots as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Jenkins' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominique Johnson, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and five steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordon Massey, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Heritage's record is now 8-10. As for Jenkins, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Heritage has already played their next contest (against Grovetown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Jenkins will venture away from home to challenge Islands at 6:30 p.m. on January 28th.
