Basketball Recap: Charlotte Country Day School Comes Up Short

Charlotte Country Day School lost against Providence Day on January 11th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers took a 74-56 bruising from the Providence Day Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Chargers are ranked fourth).

Despite the loss, Charlotte Country Day School saw an underclassman step up: freshman Davonta Dj Lindsey went 7 for 12 on his way to 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Diaz, who posted 13 points.

Charlotte Country Day School's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Providence Day, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 22-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Cannon the next time they take the court. Charlotte Country Day School will host Cannon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Providence Day will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
