Basketball Recap: LKY Drops Season-High Score on Community Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask LKY). They breezed past the Community Christian Academy Crusaders to the tune of 80-39 on Friday. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 20 points or more this season.

LKY's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hannah Simmon, who went 10-for-18 to rack up 28 points and three steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Simmon has scored at least a third of LKY's points. Hayley Mattingly was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine assists.

The win was the fourth in a row for LKY, bringing their record for this year to 17-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.8 points. As for Community Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

LKY does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Community Christian Academy, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Christian Educational Consortium at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
