Basketball Game Preview: Bethel Academy Blazers vs. Takoma Academy Tigers

The Bethel Academy Blazers will head out to face off against the Takoma Academy Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Bethel Academy lost 53-33 to Atlee on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Blazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Raiders are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, Takoma Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Maret on Saturday and fell 50-47. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bethel Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Takoma Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Bethel Academy lost to Takoma Academy on the road by a decisive 73-56 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Bethel Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
