Baseball Recap: Manitowoc Lutheran Comes Up Short

If Manitowoc Lutheran was feeling good fresh off their 11-4 takedown of Oostburg last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lancers took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Reedsville Panthers on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lancers of the 11-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Logan Haupt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Manitowoc Lutheran is 2-1 when Haupt posts three or more hits, but 5-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Josiah Martin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Manitowoc Lutheran now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Reedsville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Manitowoc Lutheran will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against St. Mary Catholic at 4:30 p.m. As for Reedsville, they will challenge Howards Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
