            The Ash Grove Pirates will head out on the road to  take on  the Jasper Eagles  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
Ava hit Ash Grove with a four-run fourth inning  on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pirates took  a  6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Kyler Reece was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 1-for-2 with one  stolen base, one  double,  and one  RBI.
Meanwhile, Jasper hadn't done well against Lockwood recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Friday. The Eagles skirted past the Tigers  5-4. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Eagles.
 Quentin Winans was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. He  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Winans was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in March.
 In other batting news,  Treyton Ritchhart was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run.  Clayton Anderson also deserves some recognition as  he  launched his first  home run of the season.
 Jasper  lost a few balls and  finished the game with three  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
 Ash Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10-1. As for Jasper, their record is now 13-6.
 Ash Grove beat Jasper 3-0  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
