Dutch Fork gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 54-21 victory over the Spartanburg Vikings. The Silver Foxes haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Kyle Henry and Sheldon Shine. Henry rushed for 102 yards and two scores on only 12 carries while Shine rushed for 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Henry a new career-high. Colione Martin was another key player, rushing for 78 yards and one TD.
Dutch Fork was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 341 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 182 rushing yards in six consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Dutch Fork's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB six times. In that department, Jaden Wuerth was the leader with three sacks. Mario Anderson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
