Soccer Recap: Santa Ynez Comes Up Short

Santa Ynez managed to keep up with Dunn until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Santa Ynez Pirates lost 6-3 to the Dunn Earwigs. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 965th, while the Earwigs are ranked 296th).

Santa Ynez hit Dunn with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Osvaldo Muro, Jack Peterschick, and Evan Eliason.

Santa Ynez's loss dropped their record down to 4-10-3. As for Dunn, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Santa Ynez wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Atascadero on the 28th. Dunn has also already played their next game, a 4-0 victory against Bishop Diego on the 28th.
