West Las Vegas had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Robertson Cardinals 13-1 on Thursday. The Dons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 games by six runs or more this season.
Malie Satete made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and two stolen bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Alexis Pacheco was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs. Aliana Otero was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
West Las Vegas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Robertson only posted an OBP of .176.
West Las Vegas is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Robertson, they now have a losing record of 14-15.
