Recap: Royal Palm Beach Wildcats vs. Santaluces Chiefs
The Royal Palm Beach Wildcats lost against the Santaluces Chiefs back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Royal Palm Beach took a hard 50-35 fall against Santaluces. Royal Palm Beach has not had much luck with Santaluces recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Royal Palm Beach saw an underclassman step up: Mariayah Jean scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Mallory, who scored 8 points.
Santaluces found their leader in underclassman Makaylah Wayde, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wayde has scored at least 25% of Santaluces' points. Another player making a difference was Lyiah Gaitor, who scored 9 points along with 11 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Royal Palm Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Santaluces, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Royal Palm Beach will be playing in front of their home fans against Palm Beach Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Santaluces, they will head out on the road to face off against Clewiston at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
