Baseball Recap: Sutton Sammies vs. South Colonels
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hopedale, Sutton was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the South Colonels. The high-scoring effort was just what the Sammies needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Jack Patraitis made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Patraitis was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jackson Kehowski was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Cloutier, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one double.
Sutton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for South, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sutton will face off against Oxford at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for South, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Tantasqua Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
