Basketball Game Preview: Boaz Pirates vs. Albertville Aggies

Boaz is 1-9 against Albertville since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Boaz Pirates will be playing at home against the Albertville Aggies at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Boaz is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest loss since December 4, 2023 on Saturday. They fell just short of Glencoe by a score of 74-72. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (64), the Pirates still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Albertville). They blew past Pell City, posting a 77-41 win. The Aggies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

The victory was the third in a row for Albertville, bringing their record for this year to 10-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26 points. As for Boaz, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
