Softball Game Preview: Temescal Canyon Titans vs. South Hills Huskies

The Temescal Canyon Titans will be taking part in a tournament against the South Hills Huskies at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games Temescal Canyon has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Temescal Canyon took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They skirted past Orange Vista 4-3.

JESSENIA MOORE spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, NATALIE CASTRO was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of NIA HALL, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, South Hills made easy work of El Rancho on Thursday and carried off a 13-3 win.

South Hills let Victoria Roman and Jayden Garcia run wild. Roman went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Garcia went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave Roman a new career-high in hits (three). Brianna Sanchez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

Temescal Canyon's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for South Hills, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0.
