West Wilkes had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. They never let the Wilkes Central Eagles get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. Considering the Blackhawks have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

West Wilkes' victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Wilkes Central, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
