Edgewood has won three straight games at home, while New Boston has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Lions at 7:30 p.m. Edgewood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully New Boston likes a good challenge.
Edgewood barely beat Lone Oak the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs claimed a resounding 59-14 win over the Buffaloes. Considering the Bulldogs have won five matchups by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lucas Pippin and Trevor Golightly were among the main playmakers for Edgewood as the former gained 254 total yards and four touchdowns and the latter gained 300 total yards and a touchdown. Pippin's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 104 rushing yards.
Edgewood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 389 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 41 points the game before, New Boston was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They took a blow against Daingerfield, falling 54-7. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Despite the defeat, New Boston saw an underclassman step up: freshman Javonte Giddens rushed for 97 yards and one touchdown.
Even if they lost, New Boston's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.
Edgewood's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for New Boston, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Thursday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Edgewood has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 258.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like New Boston struggles in that department as they've been averaging 188.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything went Edgewood's way against New Boston in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as Edgewood made off with a 54-28 win. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
