Football Recap: Basis Independent Silicon Valley Takes a Loss

Basis Independent Silicon Valley played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Crystal Springs Uplands Gryphons, falling 72-6. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Gryphons are ranked 19th).

Jimmy Naylor was nothing short of spectacular for Crystal Springs Uplands: he rushed for 108 yards and two TDs on only five carries, and also threw for 95 yards and four touchdowns. Naylor's longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Rikhav Shah also helped with two scores in total.

Basis Independent Silicon Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Crystal Springs Uplands, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
