Basketball Recap: Holton Gets the Win

Holton hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They had just enough and edged the Riley County Falcons out 50-47.

Bodie Dillon was a one-man wrecking crew for Holton as he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Dillon is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Korben Fox, who posted 11 points.

Holton was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riley County only racked up eight assists.

Despite the defeat, Riley County had strong showings from TrenT Webber, who went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points and five boards, and Eli Harmison, who had seven points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Allen, who earned six points and seven rebounds.

Holton's record is now 4-8. As for Riley County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Royal Valley the next time they take the court. Riley County will host Royal Valley on Friday, while Holton will host them at 7:30 p.m. on February 4th.
