Basketball Recap: Groveton Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Woodsville

On Friday, Groveton faced Woodsville in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Groveton Eagles fell 51-40 to the Woodsville Engineers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Engineers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-39 back in January.

Groveton's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Woodsville, the win keeps them at an undefeated 20-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Groveton will host Littleton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Littleton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matches -- so hopefully Groveton likes a good challenge. As for Woodsville, they will welcome Pittsburg at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
