Recap: Flatirons Academy Bison vs. Front Range Baptist Falcons
Even though the Front Range Baptist Falcons scored an imposing 59 points on Thursday, the Flatirons Academy Bison still came out on top. Flatirons Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-59 win over Front Range Baptist. That's another feather in the cap for Flatirons Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Flatirons Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Pistol Chavez, who scored 18 points along with seven steals. Chavez hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
The victory got Flatirons Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Front Range Baptist, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Flatirons Academy will be playing at home against Rocky Mountain Lutheran at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rocky Mountain Lutheran will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 329th, while Flatirons Academy is ranked 158th). As for Front Range Baptist, they will head out on the road to square off against Belleview Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
