Volleyball Recap: Powell Falls Short Against Ranked Pinedale + How To Watch

Powell faced Pinedale in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Panthers fell just short of the Wranglers by a score of 3-2. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wranglers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Kaedenze Carter paced Powell's offense, picking up 11 kills. Carter got some help from Leah Graham and her 27 assists. Finally, Graham was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Leading Pinedale to victory were Remedios Mata and Erin Murphy. Mata had 13 digs, while Murphy had five digs and three aces. Murphy is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. Shaye Mills also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Powell's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11-1. As for Pinedale, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8-1 record this season.

Powell has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Lyman on the 10th. As for Pinedale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Cody on the 10th.
