Basketball Recap: Freeport Falls Despite Big Games from Andrew Seward and Kazion Morehead

Freeport lost against Richwoods back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pretzels fell 87-75 to the Knights. The Pretzels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Freeport's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kazion Morehead, who posted 21 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds, and Andrew Seward, who shot 63% from the field on his way to 18 points and three steals. Seward is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwayne Mosely, who had 11 points.

Freeport now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Richwoods, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Freeport will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Belvidere at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Richwoods, they and Boylan Catholic will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
