Softball Game Preview: Rio Hondo Prep Kares vs. Adelanto Saints

The Rio Hondo Prep Kares will head out to square off against the Adelanto Saints at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Rio Hondo Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Katella 12-11. Winning may never get old, but the Kares sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

TARA RILEY was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. RYEN COVEY was another key player, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Rio Hondo Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matchups.

Adelanto came out on top against San Jacinto on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 13-run third inning. The Saints were the clear victors by a 16-10 margin over the Tigers. Considering the Saints have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Adelanto is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games. As for Rio Hondo Prep, their record is now 19-5.
