Football Game Preview: Claude Mustangs vs. Nazareth Swifts

Claude hasn't had much luck against Nazareth recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mustangs will host the Swifts at 7:00 p.m. Claude knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Nazareth likes a good challenge.

Claude's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. They claimed a resounding 46-0 victory over White Deer. The Mustangs' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Claude didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Trapper Godfrey and Korbin Jackson. Godfrey is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last seven games he's played.

Meanwhile, Nazareth hadn't done well against Happy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Swifts blew past the Cowboys 52-6. The win was nothing new for the Swifts as they're now sitting on four straight.

Claude's record is now 8-2. As for Nazareth, their record now sits at 7-3.

Claude couldn't quite get it done against Nazareth in their previous meeting back in October of 2023 as they fell 54-47. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
