Softball Game Preview: Edgewood-Colesburg Vikings vs. Easton Valley

The Edgewood-Colesburg Vikings will head out to challenge Easton Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Edgewood-Colesburg's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Easton Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Edgewood-Colesburg will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Independence, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Vikings came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 5-2 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous five game, Easton Valley brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They had just enough and edged out Starmont 11-10. Considering Easton Valley's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Edgewood-Colesburg is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 17-5 record this season. Easton Valley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-11.

Edgewood-Colesburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Easton Valley in their previous meeting back in June of 2020, sneaking past 12-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
