Softball Game Preview: Post Falls Trojans vs. Lewiston Bengals

Post Falls is 1-9 against Lewiston since April of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Post Falls will head out to face off against Lewiston at 3:00 p.m. Lewiston took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Post Falls, who comes in off a win.

Post Falls will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Liberty Christian on Saturday. Post Falls put the hurt on Liberty Christian with a sharp 13-1 win.

Natalie Stroud and Kulani Peahu-Michael did most of the damage at the plate: Stroud scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Peahu-Michael scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Peahu-Michael has posted since back in April of 2024. Sienna Williams was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Post Falls always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty Christian only posted an OBP of .389.

Lewiston had taken Lake City down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. Lewiston took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake City.

Anna Ready was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Lewiston has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. The victory got Post Falls back to even at 1-1.

Post Falls couldn't quite get it done against Lewiston in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can Post Falls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
