Jordan is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while Middle Creek is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Luke Samples tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over 6.1 innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Frankie Gilchrist, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, Middle Creek earned a 7-2 victory over Overhills on Tuesday.
Ryan Morris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, John Lupienski was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Garrett Sladek was another key player, earning three runs and one stolen base.
Middle Creek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Jordan, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Jordan has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Middle Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
