Softball Recap: Orange Cove's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Orange Cove came tearing into Monday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the North Stars.

Daisy Regalado spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Orange Cove got a big performance out of Madeline Powers, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Kassandra Ocejo also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Orange Cove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .538 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Orange Cove's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-6.

Coming up, Orange Cove will face off against Farmersville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North, they will challenge Tehachapi at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Stars surely won't give up without a fight.
