Softball Recap: Surry County Comes Up Short at Home Against Greensville County

Surry County unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Greensville County Eagles on Tuesday, falling 11-1. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Hailey Livesay was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Surry County Cougars face off against Sussex Central Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Greensville County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Surry County at 4:30 p.m. on April 10th.
