It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Eldred had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Chapel Field Christian Lions. Winning may never get old, but the Yellowjackets sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Giada Donato spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sydney Furler, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Gonzalez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Eldred's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Chapel Field Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Eldred will face off against Argyle on June 7. The Scots' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Yellowjackets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Chapel Field Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
